Abu Talib said, “That is something Allah sent to you.” Later he met his uncle Abu Talib and told him about Khadija’s offer. I am offering you twice what I would offer another man.” Muhammad s.a.w. ![]() When he came she said to him, “I have decided to hire you because I have heard about your truthfulness, your honesty and your decent manners. How can I refuse such a decent honest man as Muhammad.” Then she sent for Muhammad (s.a.w.). answered, “ If you asked me to hire a stranger, I would have done it for you. and asked, “Would you hire Muhammad?” Khadija r.a. He did not want to ask people to do things for him.Ību Talib went to Khadija r.a. said, “Maybe she is going to suggest that herself.” His uncle said that he was afraid she might hire someone else if they did not ask. She will give you preference over the others for she has heard a lot about your decency.” Muhammad s.a.w. Why don’t you go and ask her to hire you. The caravan is preparing to leave and Khadija, the daughter of Khuwaylid, is hiring men to trade for her. Business is getting very bad for we have had a couple of bad years. TO HIRE MUHAMMAD S.A.W.Ību Talib said to Muhammad (s.a.w.), “I am a penniless man. Bound to a life of solitude, she had given all her energy to the development of her business.Īlthough the society in which Khadija was born was a terribly male chauvinistic one, Khadija earned two titles: Ameerat-Quraysh, Princess of Quraysh, and al-Tahira, the Pure One, due to her impeccable personality and virtuous character, not to mention her honorable descent. She had turned down several noblemen of Quraysh who asked for her hand, believing that they were after her wealth. She had married twice within the tribe of Banu Makhzum, and twice lost her husband to the ravaging wars with which Arabia was afflicted, now she had no mind to marry a third time. She used to hire men to bid and compete in the market on her behalf and rewarded them with a share of the profits. was a tradeswoman of honor and great wealth. ![]() One day he heard that Khadijah r.a., daughter of Khuwaylid, was hiring men of the Quraysh tribe to work for her in her trade. It was necessary that he find for his nephew a higher paying job than herdsmanship. Muhammad’s (s.a.w.) uncle, Abu Talib, was poor and had many persons under his responsibility to take care of. ![]()
